Kurihara Tea Farm: Mountain Grown Yame Kabusecha

Shaded Mountain Grown Yamecha Green Tea

 かぶせ茶 Kabusecha

80g / 20g

The shading reduces about 85% of the sunlight which allows the leaves to mature with less astringency than sencha in a similar way to gyokuro. However, the period of shading is usually shorter than with Gyokuro, 10-14 days, allowing for slightly more astringency, producing a tea with a refined balance.

    Steeping Notes: 5g | 50ml | 60°C | 60sec

Re-steep multiple times at cool temperatures before raising the temperature for the last few steeps.

    • Ingredients: Green tea
    • Harvest: Mid-May 2025
    • Region: Yabemura village, Yame, Fukuoka
    • Note: Machine Harvested, Shaded for two weeks, Regular steaming
