Ryo tea cup from Saliu made by master potter Hirotaka Umehara

This Ryo series cup is handmade by second generation Tsumugi craftsman Mr. Hirotaka Umehara for Saliu, Japan. In 1988 Mr. Umehara established Tamamitsu Touen Co and in 1997 Built the Anagama kiln (Shiinoki kiln)

The red clay used to create this series of ceramics contains high levels of iron. When baked at very high temperature it is carbonised to produce a rich black colour. 

  • Size: approx 8.5cm top diameter | 5cm base diameter | 5cm height  
  • Capacity: approx 210ml
  • Hand Wash Only
  • Please Note: As each piece is handmade there may be slight variations in size or shape.
