Kyoto Single Cultivar Spring Kamairicha
Yabukita Cultivar, Naturally Grown Pan-fired Green Tea
40g
Kamairicha has been made for centuries in Japan but it is not extremely common place in Kyoto as most farmers tend to prefer steaming their green tea rather than pan firing.
This first flush spring green tea has been created in a roasting drum. Unlike Hojicha that is processed and then roasted, this tea is added to the drum raw to stop oxidation through direct heat rather than with steam.
This tea has a fantastic nutty flavour with a light toasted aroma and umami left on the palate after drinking.
Steeping Notes: 3g | 250ml | 80°C | 60s
Multiple infusions recommended.
- Ingredients: Green Tea (kamairicha)
- Harvest: Spring
- Cultivar: Yabukita
- Naturally Grown without the use of pesticides or chemical fertilisers.
- Region: Wazuka, Kyoto Prefecture
- Farm: Female run, 4th generation family owned tea garden
