Uejima Tea Farm Uji Matcha "Rei" 

京都宇治和束茶 抹茶

Rei 玲 in Japanese means "piercing beauty" or refers to the pure reverberating sound of metal striking a bell, often heard in Buddhist ceremonies.

Rei is recommended by Master Uejima for usucha, thin tea preparation.  This popular grassy and vegetal matcha has a beautiful smooth mouthfeel with medium body with nice umami finish.

From tea master Uejima Noriyasu, Rei is made with the samidori tea cultivar. Samidori is well known for making excellent matcha and gyokuro.   

Usucha suggestion: 2g | 50-60ml | 70°C water

Cultivating and processing some of Kyoto's finest teas. He is the 5th generation master farmer carrying on a tradition that dates back to the mid-19th century. The Ritz Carlton Hotel of Kyoto features his teas in their lineup for their guests.
